RYA Ocean Theory Shorebased

This course in astro or celestial navigation and world wide meteorology assumes a knowledge of terrestrial navigation and basic meteorology up to the standard of the Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster offshore shorebased course.

In addition to learning about all aspects of sextant navigation, this course, is designed for who aspire to blue water cruising and wish to hone their ocean navigation skills.

• How to use a sextant
• Ocean passage planning,
• Yacht management, 
• Electronic navigation and Radio aids.

Ideal for the qualified RYA Offshore Yachtmaster who wants to gain a knowledge of astro or celestial navigation before attempting their ocean qualifying passage.
