RYA Day Skipper Shorebased

This elementary Day Skipper navigation theory course requires no previous knowledge, but some practical experience is desirable. This course will give you all of the navigation and theoretical knowledge required to move on towards the RYA Day Skipper practical course and a Day Skipper qualification.

You will learn the basics of

• navigation

• pilotage

• the weather

• rules of the road

• how to plan your first passages as a Day Skipper 

It also includes many seamanship and safety topics, such as nautical terms and the use of safety equipment.

In addition to all the RYA practice charts and navigation tables, course notes and RYA Chartplotter, we will supply the necessary plotting instruments for Day Skipper Chartwork.

The RYA Day Skipper shorebased course costs £350 including morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea.
